Patrick Johnson

Dr. Patrick Johnson is currently a Senior Research Scholar with the HSI-STEM project. Before assuming this position he was Dean of Assessment and Institutional Effectiveness at Dowling College. Before that, he was Academic Chair in the School of Education at Dowling and Professor of Human Development and Learning and Secondary Education.

Dr. Johnson received his doctorate in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before moving to Dowling, he was a senior fellow and Deputy Director of the Medical Research Division at the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University. Prior to that, he was a senior research associate at the Hispanic Research Center at Fordham University where he conducted research on culture and alcohol abuse supported by federal grants for over a decade.
